Transcript Requests

Student records, including the academic transcript, are protected by the FERPA privacy act. Only the student may request a copy of their academic record. Family or friends are not permitted to access student records without the written consent of the student.

Only University of Richmond transcripts may be requested or released. Transcripts and documents from other institutions are the property of the University of Richmond and, as such, are under the control of the Office of the University Registrar. Under federal policy, a student has the right to view the documents in his or her file; the University is not required to provide (or allow the making of) copies of these documents. Transcripts submitted to the University of Richmond for admission or credit transfer become the property of the University of Richmond and cannot be returned to the student or forwarded to other institutions.

  • Self-Service Electronic Transcript Requests

    The University of Richmond has authorized Parchment to provide self-service electronic delivery of transcripts. This process allows students (current and former) to use a credit or debit card to order and pay for transcripts in a safe, online transaction. There is a $5 fee for this service.

    Follow these simple steps to place an online request for transcripts through Parchment:

    1. Go to the University of Richmond Parchment Store  and register or log in if you’re a returning user.
    2. Follow the prompts to place your transcript order, including delivery options and fees.

    Most eTranscripts are processed in as little as 30-40 minutes.

    You may attach supplemental documents to your transcript request (i.e. admissions application forms, scholarship forms, etc.). Recipients of electronic (PDF) transcripts are sent a link via email when the transcript is available to be retrieved and downloaded. This link can be used 3 times and it expires after 30 days.

  • Self-Service Paper Transcript (Mailed or Picked Up)

    The University of Richmond has authorized Parchment to provide self-service paper transcripts that can be mailed or picked up from the Registrar’s Ofice. This process allows students (current and former) to use a credit or debit card to order and pay for transcripts in a safe, online transaction. There is a $5 fee for this service.

    Follow these simple steps to place an online request for transcripts through Parchment:

    1. Go to the University of Richmond Parchment Store and register or log in if you’re a returning user.
    2. Follow the prompts to place your transcript order, including delivery options and fees.
    3. Select your mailing method (Standard USPS - free, FedExDomestic Delivery - $29, FedEx International - $51.50)

    Requests processed by the University may take 3-5 business days.

  • Transcript Request Form (Free)

    Please complete the Official Transcript Request form for transcript requests processed by the University. The form must be printed, physically signed (student/alumni signatures required), and returned to the Registrar’s Office via fax, mail, or email as a signed/scanned PDF.  Please note that we do not accept electronic or "mouse" signatures or stamps, and we do not accept links to documents.

    Requests processed by the University may take up to 3-5 business days.

Please Note

  • The University does not fax transcripts.
  • No transcript will be released if the student has financial or academic holds. Orders processed through Parchment will be checked for holds and the requestor will be notified at the time of the order if the order cannot be fulfilled due to a hold. If the hold is resolved within 30 days of the order,  the transcript will be released and the requestor will then be charged. Otherwise, the order will automatically be canceled and the requestor will not be charged. 
  • FedEx transcript requests received after 9:00 a.m. ET will be processed the next business day.
