Cross Registration

The University of Richmond has an agreement with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Virginia State University (VSU), and Virginia Union University (VUU) to allow undergraduate students to cross register under the following conditions:

  • Courses taken at the host institution will be free of tuition charges, but not materials or lab fees.
  • No more than four semester hours (equivalent to 1.14 Richmond units) per semester may be attempted.
  • The student must be registered as a full-time student (generally at least twelve semester hours or 3.5 units) at his or her parent institution.
  • The student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher and have a year 3 or 4 class standing.
  • Courses taken at the host institution must be upper level only and must not be available at the parent institution.
  • Registration in this program does not include summer school.
  • Registration is strictly on a space available basis and must be approved by both institutions.
  • Transfer students who transferred in 17.5 units cannot count cross-registered classes toward their residency requirement.
